Shower Fixtures

People across America are replacing bathtubs with elaborate shower fixtures. The idea is to have a spa at your home.

While most people may think that once you've seen one shower, you've seen them all, there are actually a lot of different showers for you to choose from. The new trend is for homeowners to create showers inspired by spas.

People are looking for bigger shower stalls, diverter valves with handheld showers, free-form showers. Many homeowners are replacing their tubs with 5-foot showers.

Keep in mind that it's a good idea to keep at least one bathtub in the house. Young couples with babies, and grandparents who have small children visitng, will want a tub.

On the other hand, homwowners are getting away from having tubs in their own bathrooms. Even the Jacuzzi-type tubs aren't being ordered anymore.

Who has the time to languish in a tub for 20 or 30 minutes? The aging population is finding it harder to get in and out of tubs. Apparently, it makes more sense to have fixtures that will maximize and enhance the benefits of the shower.

Steam showers have grown slightly in popularity, but the overwhelming choice is to create the spa sensation by having fixtures that include body jets and a large "rain-type" showerhead.

These (of course) are considerably more expensive than conventional shower fixtures, and they aren't made for water conservationists, but they are much more popular today than they were 15 years ago.

In addition to the fixtures, custom benches and custom tile floors for shower stalls are available in a greater number of shapes and designs than ever. Many people are requesting glass tiles for accents in their bathrooms.

Quartz if currently a popular material for benches and vanity tops. It's non-porous, never needs to be sealed, and is maintenance-free.

Shower fixtures can be found in any style or design that you prefer, whether it be antique, rustic, contemporary and modern, or even Victorian styles. Prices vary greatly. You are sure to find many that will work great with your taste and your budget.
