Linen Cabinets
Bathroom linen cabinets are a good way to add elegance to the room while providing additional storage. Many people feel that vanity cabinets are not enough. Below the sink is a good place for cleaning supplies. However, towels and other linens should be kept elsewhere. If space is an issue, be aware that there are many different shapes and sizes of cabinets that can store linens. These are often designed to be tall and thin, occupying very little floor space. Several adjustable shelves provide lots of flexibility and spacing options. They also come in several styles and colors. So contemporary, Victorian, country, sophisticated or simple, or whatever, style won't be a problem. I lean more to the antique look myself, but we each have our preferences. If you have more space than you need, your choices of cabinetry grow significantly. Find something larger for more capacity, or shorter to double as a counter. You might find some that are shaped like antique trunks, or foot lockers, but can still serve as storage for your linens.
Keep in mind that the bathroom will look better if the design is consistent. So select towel racks, shower curtains, and other accessories that follow the theme of the cabinets. There are so many choices available, that you won't have trouble finding something to match.
Linen cabinets are good to have in rooms other than the bathroom as well. In bedrooms, they help keep pillowcases, blankets, comforters and sheets free from dust.
They can do the same for napkins and table clothes in the dining room. Keeping things dust-free is especially important if anyone in the house suffers from asthma or allergies.
Corner cabinets take up minimal space and can add a lot of decorative interest to a room. To make the best use of these cabinets, fold the linens into triangles. How's that for thinking outside the box?
