Just Cabinets - But Good In Any Room

Just cabinets will be discussed on this page. We're not selling any cabinets here, and to discuss every kind of cabinet individually would take forever. So I thought we would just brainstorm a bit about how cabinets could be used.

When people think of cabinets, they usually are thinking of the kitchen or bathroom.

But cabinets can go in virtually every room in the house. Cabinets can be built-in, or free-standing. They can be custom made just for you, or they can be something you bought at a flee market.

They can be made of wood, or metal, or plastic, but they're all just cabinets. Their primary function is to organize and store "stuff." But they also add a great deal to the decor. They can be the focal point of the room, or an accent piece. And they come in all shapes, sizes, and finishes.

They're quite versatile. For example, apothecary cabinets could be used to store CDs and DVDs (and lots of other things as well - and they're cute - I love apothecary cabinets).

An old dressing table can be used as a vanity; an antique china cabinet could be used as a liquor cabinet behind a bar; a sewing machine cabinet can double as an appliance lift (or a TV cabinet) in the kitchen. Old laundry room cabinets can be used in the garage.

I've seen wardrobe cabinets turned into free-standing pantry cabinets. They're still just cabinets, but they can go a long way toward showing how creative you can be, while saving some serious dollars.
