Home Hardware
Under the heading of Home Hardware, we can talk about door and window hardware, cabinet hardware, and faucets and other plumbing fixtures for your kitchen and bathrooms.
Cabinet Hardware
Cabinet and drawer pulls (or knobs) are an effortless adjustment and, to be honest, those old handles on a kitchen cabinet can cloud over the sunniest of morning coffee experiences. Replacing them with stylish alternatives is as easy as 1,2,3!
1. Remove one of the existing pulls for reference (size and placement of screw holes are very important since drilling new holes in cabinets is out of the question).
2. Visit the local hardware store to find the perfect pulls (or knobs) – a new finish, or perhaps glass knobs, or eye-catching shapes (like forks and spoons) are all available.
3. Unscrew the old and screw-in the new! Save the old – they can stay with the home when the time comes to move, giving you the option of taking your favorite hardware with you.
Hinges for cabinet doors can be either hidden (for european and contemporary styles) or in view (for traditional and country styling). These are available in many shapes, sizes, finishes, and weight capacity. Like most hardware, hinges provide both style and function.
An often-overlooked example of residential hardware is the drawer slide. You can have heavy-duty, self-closing, under-mounted drawer slides installed on your kitchen drawers, and you'll smile every time you close one of them.
Several types of hardware can be found in a typical bathroom. These include hooks for clothes or towels, towel bars, sink faucets, bath and shower fixtures, and accessories like toilet paper holders, soap dispensers, and decorative shelves.
Home hardware is also useful at your windows. This includes the latch or crank which secures the window, curtain rods, and decorative brackets to hold curtains in place.

Door Hardware
Of course, doors can be fitted with various kinds of hardware. antique hardware can give a home a classic, old-style look.
The most notable of these is the door knocker. - typically on the outside of the main entry door - which provides the first impression given to visitors. Door knobs can take the shape of levers or handles, as well as knobs. For more about this, go to exterior door hardware.
Doors can be hung on plain butt hinges, or more decorative versions. Closet doors might have bi-fold hardware, or slidng tracks. Tracks are also used for pocket doors which slide into a cavity in the wall.
