Bathroom Wall Mirrors
Bathroom wall mirrors are a mandatory element in any bathroom. Imagine the trauma resulting from not being able to look at yourself.
With today's busy lifestyle, our time in the bathroom is the only part of the day that we can relax and unwind. Mirrors are one of the few possessions we have that are both decorative and useful.
STANDARD BATHROOM WALL MIRRORS
Wall mirrors are great space savers because they don't take up any floor space, and they visually make the room seem larger. The most common bathroom wall mirror is rectangular, with a frame, and sits above the sink (where the medicine cabinet would otherwise be). The variations to this include shape (round, square, oval, etc), size, whether there is a frame or not, and whether the edges are beveled or not.
All of these give the mirror the potential to be a very significant element in the overall decor of the room. It can single-handedly create a theme: elegant, classic, country, early American, whimsy, the beach, and so on. You can buy tinted mirrors or clear, and you can buy fogless mirrors. These are very good for people who love long, hot showers.
LIGHTED MAKE-UP MIRRORS
If you are a typical woman in America, you will spend a little more than 1 year of your life applying make-up while looking into a mirror. You might as well have good lighting.
Again, the variety seems endless: stationery or movable (arms that extend from the wall); from full size to 6" diameter; oval, square, or round; etc. Features are offered so that you can get just the right angle, and adjust the light to serve your needs. And the frames are available in many metallic finishes.
Certainly, you can find something that makes you happy. Prices range from about $12 for a hand-held model, to about $180. That doesn't include installation. Sears.com is a great place to shop on the web for this type of mirror. They currently carry a large selection of lighted bathroom wall mirrors.
SHAVING MIRRORS
My son has a shaving mirror (of the fogless variety) because he likes to shave in the shower. A few models include razor holders. Others can be combined with radios. Many of them magnify. (I don't think I would like that).
They usually hang over the showerhead and can be adjusted to the right angle for your height. Many models have prices that range from $30 to $100.
FLOOR MIRRORS
If the room is large enough, this could be a good idea. You get a full-length view of yourself before leaving, and it could serve as a screen to separate the vanity from the other parts of the room. Lampsplus.com has an excellent selection of these items, and are very reasonably priced (compared to their competition). Floor mirrors will run between $100 and $500, unless you get really fancy, then the sky's the limit.
